Dolly and Polly is my story about a family that lives in the fictional town of Dogwood, WA. Dogwood would be geographically located where there are currently some collections of houses and woods just East of Central Park, which is a recognized neighborhood in Aberdeen. Anyway, our story starts on November 1, 2021. Our main characters are:
Kiki Song-Walker: A 42 year old former commercial glass blower and current graphic designer/digital artist who loves their wife and kids very much. Kiki is a stay at home parent for our titular characters who has plenty advice and love to give. Kiki is the more level headed parent, who occasionally has a problem of having breakdowns because she bottles up their emotions too much. Kiki is so super cool, and is also really cringefail at the same time (They/She, Trans MTF, Demigirl, Panromantic, Asexual, December 12)
Kathrine 'Kitty' Song: A 39 year old English professor at the local community college who is Polly's bio mom. Kitty has the set of parents that the kiddos get to know, because, unlike Kiki's parents, they didn't kick her out of the house on the basis of her identity. Kitty is a lover of community theatre, and she has a set of play scripts that will never be finished. Kitty also has some problems with being stubborn and admitting she's wrong. Kitty is actually a very good singer, but she retired from stage work in musical theatre after she moved out here from New York. (She/Her, Lesbian, April 4)
Dolly Song-Walker: A 10 year old theatre kid who wants to be a costume designer when she's grown up. Dolly makes all of Kitty's vests, which are famous among Kitty's students. Dolly is very no-nonsense and serious, and may come off as such (even when she's not trying to be) because of her very monotone voice. Dolly was adopted by Kiki and Kitty when she was 5, nearly 6. She also performs in a puppet webshow wirh her friends starting in early 2023.(She/Her, AroAce, November 5)
Paulette 'Polly' Song-Walker: A 5 year old bug-loving kindergartner who wants to be an entemologyst when she's "all big and cool and adult!" She's super energetic and loves teaching her peers about insects and arachnids, but this is a turn off to a lot of her classmates. Polly just wants everyone to love bugs as much as her, and doesn't understand how other people may find them scary. Polly grows up to be very tall. She is the confident one out of her friend group, and isn't afraid to stand up to the kids that pick on her and her friends. She is named after Kitty's grandmother, who passed shortly before she was born and was a very important person to both of Polly's parents.(She/Her, Demihetero, April 22)
These guys are only our main characters! I have a lot more where they came from, and I'm not done yet! As of April 2024, there are 14 designed characters, and more floating around in my brain juices. If I end up finding a ToyHouse code, I will be able to write even more.
